Hua Hin ranked among top 10 retirement destinations in Asia
Hua Hin has been ranked among the best retirement destinations in Asia.
Leading American news site US News and World Report cited Hua Hin for its affordable cost of living, high standard of medical care and excellent year round weather.
The site said that retirees in Hua Hin can play golf and eat out at first class restaurants without breaking the bank.
Hua Hin “has good year-round weather and a large foreign community”, the site said.
“A retiree can afford a high standard of living, including days on the city’s golf courses and regular dinners out at first-class restaurants, on a modest budget.
“The standard of medical care is good, and you’re less than three hours from Bangkok, which boasts some of the region’s top hospitals.
“Housing options include modern condos, beachfront homes, and modern gated communities.
“The big foreign community connects through reading clubs, festivals, cycling clubs, soccer leagues, wine tastings, and darts tournaments”.
The rankings, released in 2019, are not the first time Hua Hin has been recognized internationally as an excellent destination for retirement.
In 2014, ‘Live And Invest Overseas’ magazine said Hua Hin was one of the most appealing destinations for would-be retirees and described it as a “one of the few classic retirement havens in Southeast Asia.
One of the benefits to Hua Hin, the magazine said, is that a retired couple could easily enjoy a comfortable upper class retirement on a budget of about $2,000 USD (approx. 60,000 baht per month.
Hua Hin was also noted for excellent infrastructure, which includes first class, international standard medical care, shopping malls, ever improving transportation links and 5 star hotels.
